Sugar Grove Custom Cars LLC

"Jumpin' Jim" Woodsmall, owner of
Sugar Grove Custom Cars, LLC. (SGCC), is the sole sponsor of the LPQue BBQ Championship.  Sponsoring and planning this historic event is Jim's way of combining two of his passions, BBQ competitions and custom cars.

"Jumpin' Jim" began entering barbeque competitions in 1994 and competed very aggressively.  In a typical year, his passion for competing would take him to approximately 25 barbeque contests all over America.  He won his first Grand Championship 10 years ago.  Jim has designed and produced BBQ rigs and mobile equipment that has been sold all over America.  Jim's newest passion is for fabrication, design and production of custom cars.

SGCC is a newly formed business located in Dallas Center, Iowa.  The Company will specialize in the production and sale of specialty cars, which are also known as Kit Cars or Replicars.  SGCC venture is a collaboration between Jim Woodsmall of Johnston and Ron Jarboe of Dallas Center.

SGCC is planning the production of several Shell Valley Cobras, which will have either hard or convertible tops, and Brunton Automotive Super Stalkers, two-seat open cars with a roll bar. They are meant for either street use or recreational high speed driving.

Jim Woodsmall has an interest in the specialty and custom cars and Ron Jarboe will be building the specialty cars. Jarboe also does maintenance and repair work on high-end custom rods. The men will also display and sell custom cars from their personal collections.  SGCC will also provide trailers and other support products for the cars and will also have information on recreational racing.

SGCC will have a showroom and office at 400 15th St. in downtown Dallas Center, Iowa.  Another building is currently under construction by Pro-Line Building Co. at 1206 Sugar Grove Ave., Dallas Center.  This building, along Iowa Highway 44, will be a production facility for SGCC.  It is anticipated that this building will be completed in June.

To kick off its anticipated opening on June 18, the company is sponsoring the LBQue BBQ Championship competition in Mount Pleasant on June 15-16.
